Spiritual Retreat and Woollen Jacket Distribution: March 2026

Sri Ramakrishna Sharadashrama, Ponnampet, organized a spiritually enriching retreat along with a Woollen Jacket Distribution Programme on 03 March 2026. The combined programme reflected the twin ideals of spiritual awakening and selfless service inspired by Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda.

The spiritual retreat witnessed the participation of devotees, spiritual aspirants, and well-wishers from Ponnampet and nearby regions. The Ashrama premises were filled with an atmosphere of devotion, peace, and spiritual enthusiasm throughout the day.

The retreat began with Vedic chanting and prayers, followed by devotional bhajans and the chanting of sacred hymns. Devotees actively participated in meditation, spiritual discussions, and prayer sessions conducted by the monks of the Ashrama. Special worship and Pushpanjali were offered with deep devotion, creating a spiritually uplifting experience for all attendees.

Monks of the Ashrama delivered spiritual discourses highlighting the importance of inner purity, self-discipline, devotion, and service to humanity. The teachings of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda tradition were explained in a simple and practical manner, encouraging devotees to lead spiritually meaningful lives rooted in compassion and harmony.

Alongside the retreat, a Woollen Jacket Distribution Programme was conducted as part of the Ashrama’s relief and welfare activities. Poor and needy individuals from nearby villages and surrounding areas received woollen jackets to help them cope with the prevailing weather conditions. The initiative was undertaken with the objective of extending warmth, dignity, and support to economically disadvantaged sections of society.

The programme reflected the Ashrama’s continued commitment to serving humanity through both spiritual guidance and compassionate social service. Monks, devotees, and volunteers worked together harmoniously to ensure the smooth conduct of the retreat and distribution programme.

The day concluded with Maha Mangalarati and the distribution of noon lunch prasād to all devotees, beneficiaries, and participants. The combined event served as a meaningful expression of devotion, service, and collective spiritual fellowship at Sri Ramakrishna Sharadashrama, Ponnampet.
