Sri Ramakrishna Sharadashrama, Ponnampet

Sri Ramakrishna Saradashrama, located in Ponnampet, Kodagu (Coorg), has been serving society since its establishment in 1927. The ashrama is committed to addressing the various needs of the community, including healthcare, education, socio-cultural-religious activities, and relief operations during times of natural disasters. Its services are provided without any discrimination based on caste, creed, color, race, religion, language, or socio-economic status.

Over the years, Sri Ramakrishna Saradashrama has had the privilege of hosting visits from national leaders, leaders of various sects, and senior monks of the Ramakrishna Order. Notable personalities who have visited the ashrama include Mahatma Gandhi in 1934, Vinoba Bhave in 1957, and numerous other freedom fighters who originated from Kodagu.

The ashrama's commitment to serving society and its recognition by esteemed individuals highlights its dedication to the welfare and upliftment of the community.

Guru Purnima

29 July 2026 (Wednesday)

On the sacred occasion of Guru Purnima, special worship, Vedic chanting, bhajans, meditation, and devotional programmes will be conducted in reverence to the eternal Guru-parampara and the ideals of spiritual illumination.

Durga Ashtami

18 October 2026 (Sunday)

Sacred observances of Durga Ashtami will be held with special puja, chanting of hymns, bhajans, and devotional worship dedicated to the Divine Mother. Devotees are invited to participate and seek the blessings of the Universal Mother through prayer and spiritual reflection.

The holy birth anniversary of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi will be observed with special puja, chanting, bhajans, spiritual 
discourse, and pushpanjali. The programme seeks to inspire devotees with her message of purity, compassion, and universal motherhood.

Kalpataru Day

01 January 2027 (Friday)

Kalpataru Day will be solemnly observed with special worship, meditation, bhajans, readings from the life of Sri Ramakrishna, and devotional gatherings commemorating the Master's divine benediction bestowed upon devotees on this sacred day.

28 January 2027 (Thursday)

The sacred birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda will be observed with special worship, devotional singing, youth-oriented programmes, readings from his life and teachings, and spiritual discourses inspiring strength, character, and service.

10 March 2027 (Saturday)

The holy birth anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna will be celebrated with special puja, Vedic chanting, bhajans, spiritual discourse, homa, pushpanjali, and distribution of prasad. Devotees are invited to partake in the divine celebrations.
