Rural Development Activites and Sri Ramakrishna Saradhasrama
Rural Development Initiatives
Sri Ramakrishna Sharadashrama has been committed to rural development since its establishment in 1925. One of its notable initiatives was the introduction of a scientific beekeeping and culture program. This program aimed to uplift the village masses by promoting beekeeping as a sustainable and income-generating activity. The Ashrama's efforts in this field were recognized when their innovative honey extractor, designed for removing honey without destroying the combs, received appreciation and awards at the Mysore Dassera Exhibition. To further support beekeeping and honey production, the Coorg Honey and Wax Producers Co-operative Society was formed under the auspices of the Ashrama, conducting workshops and providing training to the local community.
